Named as the ’50 most attractive places to visit in India’ by National geographic Traveler, Vagamon is a paradise for all types of travelers placed at an altitude of 110 meters above the sea level in the Idukki district of Gods own country Kerala.

Major Attractions:
Murugan Mala: Murugan Mala placed about 7 km away from the main town of Vagamon houses a rock cut temple which is devoted to Lord Murugan. It is situated on the eastern side of the Kurisumala Hill. 

The amazing thing about the temple is that it was constructed using only a single rock.
Kurisumala Hill: A revered site for Christians living in Vagamon and nearby places, Kurisumala is thronged by large number of devotees and visitors especially on the occasion of Good Friday when devotees visit this place carrying wooden crosses on their hands and climb the hill to worship the god and seek blessings. An ashram which is placed in the hills teaches Indian spiritual beliefs and Christianity to the people who wants to learn.

Visitors can relish a small trek to reach the top of the hill which provides astonishing views of the surrounding areas.   
  
Thangal Hill: Resting place of the great Afghanistani saint, Sheikh Fariduddin who is supposed to have meditated before dying, Thangal Hill is another attraction where the tomb of the Muslim sage and a mosque is housed. The mosque celebrates Urs festival with huge fervor and joy.     
Things to Do:
While in Vagamon, large number of adventurous activities can be relished including mountaineering, rock climbing, trekking and paragliding.  
The meadows of Vagamon are an ideal place to indulge in long natural walks as it is surrounded by lavish greenery and emerald carpeted lands. Large numbers of South Indian movies are shot in the meadows which are truly astounding in terms of scenic beauty.  
    
Pine Forest is another place where you can spend time by indulging in small treks. Surrounded by long and tall pine trees on all sides, the site of pine trees offers absolute location to snap some memorable pictures to keep as a memento. 

Vagamon Waterfalls which are festooned with scenic vistas all over is a must visit site while on a tour to Vagamon owing to its beautiful and stunning surrounding. The top of the waterfalls provide some striking views, so indulge in a small trek to reach the top and relish some memorable views.
