Nestled within the estuary

Kumaransan in short was
the greatest Malayalam poet and he was renowned for his philosophy rested his
soul within the soil of the place and today the site is renowned for being
associated with the chronological life of Kumaranasan.
As per the history the
Kumaranasan, who was waiting in front of the Ashram for his Guru Narayan to
discuss something related with Yogam sensed the urgency of time and left
without meeting the Guru. While he was travelling to Alappuzha with the boat
name Redimmer in between the journey the boat was strike by accident and the
body of an ardent poet and social activist Kumaranasan recovered from the site
of Kumarakodi. Since then the place is renowned as the tomb of Kumaransan.
Kumarakodi in general is
an important tourist point on the way to national waterway towards Kollam and
Kottappuram. Traveller here stands and admires the natural flow of Pallana
River which is one of the channels of the holy river Pampa.
On your way to Kumarakodi
you will witness the school which is run by the family of Asans to pay tribute
to his social thoughts and while circling around the main attraction you will
witness is that of the tomb of the Kumaranasan.
The tomb was established
by the government of state to mark the presence of testimonies and while
travelling here it becomes very important to understand the significance of the
place and the story of the Kumaranasan.
Although the phase that
led to extinct the origin of Kumaranasan was unfortunate because he was a great
human being but it is because of his footprints around the coast of Kumarakodi
the people here runs in to understand the facts about his life.
The village and its norms
are entirely associated with the path breaking figures and stories of the great
poet Kumaranasan and to preserve the same the tomb to honour his guard was
structured by the state government which can be considered as the main
attraction of the village.

Although
you can come here anytime of the year but when it comes to specific mark sure
to mark your presence during the months of June to September to witness the
best from the pristine and serene hamlet of Kumarakodi.

is located at a distance of around 85 km from the northern side of Alappuzha.
