of about 17 km from Thiruvananthapuram, in the South Indian state of

Kovalam has three chief beaches along its 17 km long coastline.
The Lighthouse Beach is the most popular one among the three beaches. The beach
is named after a lighthouse that is situated at this place. The beach is dotted
with several numbers of luxurious hotels, restaurants, lodges and shops, which

The northernmost beach among the three beaches is called
the Main beach or with few other names. The beach is crowded during the
weekends and is most popular among the locals. During the week days the beach

The beach that lies between these two beaches is the Hawa
Beach and it is one of the beaches in the country where top less sunbathing is
accepted with goodwill among the locals.
