This beach is located at Kappad and is just located at 18 km from Kozhikode and is very peaceful with a stretch of rocks projecting the sea. The 800 hundred year old temple on this rock adds charm to this fascinating beach which is lovingly called as ‘Kappakadavu’ in local language. This magnificent beach is probably the cleanest in the coastal part of Kerala.
The alluring Kappad beach with its tempting rock formations on either side is absolute for the beach-lovers every impulse. Minus arrant banners and neon lit signs adorable visitors or the usual cacophony of hawkers and the aggregation of visitors, jostling for a bit of space, Kappad is thankfully animated and undisturbed.
The Renai Kappad is strategically amid just 18 Km from Calicut City, 55 Km from Calicut Airport (Nearest Airport) and 8 Km from Koyilandi (Nearest Railhead). Kappad Beach is considered as one of the most historical places of significance which is wrapped in a sheet of history. This fascinating beach is washed by tides twice a day and refashioned by the monsoons yearly and this beach has always something new to offer.
The swift hues mingling with sun kissed sands and endless pleasure in moving round one also had made the great explorer put his feet and now attracts hundreds of tourists round the year. Kappad Backwaters, Pookot Lake, you can as well see the rustic villages nearby, their cockleshell boats, women catching fishes with their feet, shallow ponds etc.
