Bay Drift Island

Bay Drift Island is in the northern part of the scenic and picturesque
Kumarakom village. It is a beautiful museum, which has a very artistic collection of rare and innovative art form. Located very near to the Bird Sanctuary, the Bay Drift Island is owned, designed and established by woman artist and a retired teacher Smt. Raji Punnoose. The museum has huge collection of nature memoirs and is collected from the shore of while going on for a journey to Bay of Bengal near Andaman and Nicobar Island. The collected elements are highly appreciated by the visitors and even in the year 2004, the government of Kerala awarded the most prestigious and innovative tourism project award. lakshadweep is the other most visited island location. more about  islands of Lakshadweep,

Smt Raji Punnoose thanks to the cyclone prone Bay of Bengal, (which is unpredictable) which brought so many wood pieces and some would drift miles to and finally takes rest along the side of the shore. These drift wood were picked up and with high enthusiasm and effort, a shape was given and most of them resembles like birds, amphibians, animals and reptiles.
